I took up underwater photography about 6 years ago as I wanted a way to share what I see when your baby/child is swimming under water, with their eyes wide open and looking as natural and beautiful as we know they already are.

These photos are very unique and precious and captures a magical time of your baby/child’s swimming memories.

You as a parent know how hard it is to get that “fantastic” photograph of your special person and it’s not that easy. Then add in a 70kg weight belt (as I can’t stay at the bottom of the pool) a camera and casing with 2 external flash units that weighs a ton, hold my breath, get my heart rate calm, steady hands and then wait for a little person to swim by my lens in a split second and, hopefully the water clarity is good too, this is all a little tricky, but so worth it for that PHOTOGRAPH.

If we are lucky, we may have the perfect shots during the first submersion, otherwise we shall try a few more times or depending on the little swimmer.

At this stage I may have taken anywhere up to 250 photographs of your swimmers, I then cypher through them, pick out the 5 best ones and edit them if required.

Your photos are then put onto a USB for your use.

Costs vary but start at £ 50.00, however you can request sibling shots, family shots, a kiss under water, as long as everyone is happy and contented, we can try different angles, the cost for these increase a little.

The Under Water Photography shoots are on a dedicated day and payment is made at the time of booking.

    My son has been swimming with Aqua-babe since he was 4 months old, he is now 3, swimming without aids and absolutely loves the water, he jumps in off the edge (without fear), seems to prefer being under the water than on the surface and thoroughly enjoys his 30 minutes as I do watching. Bath times are a joy and I ‘m sure it is because he has been to Aqua-babe.     Both of my children have been taught to swim by Kim at Aqua-babe, Charlie is now at school and is a little fish, to the astonishment of other parents that watch her floating on her back, diving off the side and retrieving objects from the bottom of the pool. She was not always an easy pupil, but thanks to Kim’s patience and persistence she loves being in the water and is (more importantly to me) safe in and near it.     Aqua-Babe has been fantastic for Alex – he has been going since he was 6 months old and Kim’s learning through repetition and play style for teaching together with her experienced no-nonsense approach to toddler tantrums has been the perfect combination. He is so confident and happy in the water and the fact that he could swim and dive before he went to school together with being very safety aware is all the proof needed. His baby brother Toby is now following suit
